"Welcome to Advanced Potions! Today we will be continuing our previous lesson of making veritaserum. As you may remember, this potion will cause the imbiber to tell the truth. The name for this potion comes from the Latin: veritas = truth + serum = watery liquid, or whey. When completed, this potion is a clear watery liquid that has no taste or smell. It can easily be added to any beverage without being noticed."
*Waves her wand, and the ingredients and instructions appear on the board.*
"Now, the instructions are on the board allong with the ingredients, and supplies are in the cabinet at the back of the room. Please mix this with caution... try not to breathe the vapours as they waft up from your cauldrons, or get any on your skin, otherwise you will be unable to avoid telling the truth if someone asks you a question for the next 8 hours."
*smiles*
"Are there any questions?"

Alex copied the notes.
"Yes Professor I have a question. Is there an antidote?"

"That is a very good question. There isn't one at this time. There are constantly rumors that someone has found a way to counter the effects of veritaserum, but none of those attempts have ever worked."

QS walked into the class and took a seat.
"Sorry I'm late Professor!" She said, reading the instructions on the blackboard. "Ou, we're making Veritaserum. Cool..."
((Er, Hermione, aren't you supposed to be in the Beginner's class?))

"Well I suppose that means we really have to be careful, I'm not ready to tell everyone the truth when they ask me something."

"Yes Alex, it is wisest to be cautious when making any potion, but this one is particularly potent!"
"Welcome QS(DW)! Please set up your cauldron and read over the assignment. Let me know if you have any questions."
"Miss Weasley... as a first year student, you are indeed supposed to be in Beginning Potions. This class is restricted to those students studying for their N.E.W.T.s and for Professors who wish to further their knowledge of particularly difficult potions."
"Now, one of the most finicky ingredients of this potion is the lilac, as you must use fresh blooms, not dried... As you add your ingredients, the potion should change color a few times... it should begin a pale violet color, then turn light green, and lastly, should be a pale pink before it becomes perfectly clear..."

*QS set up her cauldron and reread the instructions. Then she went to work, staying as far away from the fumes rising up from the cauldron as she worked.*

Alex set up her cauldron, read the instructions and prepared the ingredients methodically after time of addition.
Then she begann to work, always trying to stay away from the fumes.
